| 12/27/2006 - Farewell Tour for Talisman has had to be postponed. |
| |
 |
|
Talisman lead singer Jeff Scott Soto posted the following statement of his website taliking about the reason why the Talisman Tour had to be postponed:
Hello everyone, I speak for myself & the rest of Talisman regarding the recent tour dates announced.
|
I regret to inform you that the planned Farewell Tour for Talisman has had to be postponed. The team had done everything they could to ensure that the whole band be 100% available and, having waited for the various announcements we pressed the send button. However some of the dates were awaiting full confirmation and there were still one or two pending questions whether the timing worked alongside myself and one other band member. If we're to do this tour, it is imperative to us & you the fans to get the lineup you're expecting on a farewell tour, it wouldn't make sense to bring in a former member or even new player in closing this chapter of one of the most important entities of my career & life.
I hope you do realize it's nothing further than simple timing preventing us moving forward with the existing dates, I do hope & plan to readdress this whole thing, possibly adding more dates than were posted, later this year when some of us are freed up of prior commitments. My apologies to all our fans & friends alike, we are all disappointed now but know this is for the better so we can do it properly later... & potentially longer!

| 07/18/2006 - Marcel Jacob Talks about Talisman's Seventh Opus |
| |
 |
|
Marcel Jacob has checked in to supply an update for fans eagerly awaiting the brand new studio album from the band (which he also gave me a sneak preview of!). |
| |
Here's what Marcel had to say: "Talisman was supposed to do a tour in September / October, hitting Germany, Greece, Belgium, Italy, and Spain. |
But some half-decent American outfit ;-) needed JSS to step in and help them out for a while, which means we had to cancel (for now we'll give it another go if there's a slot open sometime). |
| |
Now, as you know a new Talisman album has been in the making for the past 9 months (an insane amount of time for us, all other albums could have been made twice!). It's not going to be called Bar, that was a desperate solution for a title at a time when JSS & I were only joking about titles; it does not have anything to do with drinking however, it was "BittterAngryResentful", referring to our outlook on certain then current life events.
|
| |
No, we're calling it 7 - it's our 7th studio album, and the artwork (supposedly) will reflect a bit of humor about a change of luck, winning the jackpot so to speak. Perversely enough the word "Bar" does appear in the artwork!
|
| |
It's the same old people JSS, Freddie, Jamie, and I. This time I've been handling all guitars except leads, as well as doing an amazing amount (for me) of keyboards. The album was mixed by Pontus Norgren, he is also guesting as guitar player on one track. There will be 10 or 11 tracks, with 1 or 2 bonus tracks on the Japanese release. There are some changes for this album for instance including some ballad material, and it's not as "heavy" as Cats And Dogs throwing in a few surprises…and as usual, we will include one of Jamie's songs, which always have a style of their own. We're very curious to hear reactions to this one." |
