Sometimes it's fun to just write and record good music with good friends for the fun of it and not be so pretentious about it. This project started with well known Swedish guitarist/song writer/producer Tommy Denander (Radioactive / Say it) when he and his partner Chris Demming (AOR, Spin Gallery) had written a lot of cool songs for various artists and found themselves with a lot of very good but unused AOR songs.

Tommy asked Georg Siegl , owner of AOR Heaven , if he'd be interested in releasing an album with these songs if Tommy would gather a bunch of well known guests for it. Of course he said yes and the work on the debut album by Deacon Street Project began.

Within a few days Tommy had asked people like Jan Johansen (Ignition), Jamie Meyer (Popstars), Bruce Gaitsch (Richard Marx, Madonna), Marcel Jacob (Talisman, Yngwie Malmsteen), Magnus Weidenmo (Spin Gallery), Lars Chriss (Lion's Share), Jeff Northrup (XYZ) and Sayit to appear on it.

With Tommy and Chris on the producing spot they recorded the album in a couple of month's time with a lot of fun and good spirit.

The songs are classic melodic rock in the style of Journey, Giant, Toto etc. and the performances really show the fun everybody had while recording them.

Tommy Denander says: "If you're a serious fan of classy melodic rock you won't be disappointed with the quality of this release, don't mistake it for a cheap and fast way to get some leftover songs out....it's top class from start to finish and well deserved to be checked out. Hope you'll enjoy it."

This is it - if you like catchy hooks and great melodies Deacon Street Project will definitely be an album for yours!
