In December of 1995 MJ & JSS decided they wanted to be creative despite having put Talisman on ice. The plan was to be totally retro (“history book metal” is MJ's descriptive phrase), no shame! |

Since they had no label behind them, they did the recording “on spec” in JSS's home studio. It took twelve days and $1,500 USD to write, record, mix, and master.
At the same time, Yngwie Malmsteen was working on his “Inspirations” album. He wanted Jeff and I to come over and do something on it for him, so we did a trade - he plays lead on the track “Jealousy”. Another guest was Brian Young (now with David Lee Roth). |

2 RatingsThe first album was released on Pony Canyon/Japan and Seagull/Europe. The latter promptly went bankrupt on release, so this album has pretty much been unavailable here since then.
The CD mixes elemets of Rainbow & early Whitesnake... JSS & Jacob wrote & played all of the music on the CD... except on the song "Jealousy" in which they are joined by Yngwie Malmsteen

As Human Clay they released two albums, "Human Clay" and "U4iA", which are now re-issued together under the name "Closing the book on Human Clay", including some previously unreleased bonus tracks.
