Michelle Meldrum was born in Detroit, USA to a family of musicians and actors, and moved to Los Angeles, California just before turning thirteen. Starting with forming thrash metal band Wargod, then moving on to become both co-founder and lead guitarist for eight years in Phantom Blue. She was quickly established as a guitarist that could hold her own in both playing and songwriting. She started recording on compilation albums and EP's for Metal Massacre, and New Renaissance Records in her early teens.

When Phantom Blue was formed by Michelle and Nicole Couch, after just one gig they signed with guitar guru Mike Varney. When Phantom Blue released their self titled debut album on Shrapnel Records in the US (Roadrunner in Europe & Japan). Very successful tours followed and in Europe the MTV video "Why Call It Love" was in heavy rotation. The band received tons of press coverage and became well known as a hard rock band with great musicianship.

After completing the tour and returning to the states the band signed a major recording contract with Tom Zutaut at Geffen Records. Michelle and Nicole wrote furiously for the next album "Built To Perform" which was produced by Max Norman (Ozzy, Megadeth) and was released worldwide. With Nicole no longer in the band, Michelle successfully took the challenge of playing all the guitars on the album with the exception of a couple guest appearances. Another very successful tour followed with multiple appearances on MTV (Most Wanted, Headbangers Ball , acoustic and in the studio, and airplay of their video "Time To Run" throughout Europe, and various television programs).

After leaving Phantom Blue, Michelle participated in different projects, including touring with John Norum, and then forming Meldrum. In addition to the recently released Meldrum cd, she has also engineered, and co-written some material on the new John Norum album "Slipped Into Tommorrow". The release of "Loaded Mental Cannon" (Nov. 2002) in Europe has resulted in the band touring in Scandinavia with plans for touring Europe and releasing their video in early 2002

The Meldrum debut cd is titled "Loaded Mental Cannon", it was released on October 29th, 2001!

Marcel Jacob played bass on the track "Reign Mantra".
