For some time, MJ was looking for musicians. The answer was Matt Alfonzetti, an old acquaintance from grade school and later from touring with a reunion of Swedish fusion group Wasa Express. Matt had recently split with Jagged Edge, and was moving back home.

After some auditions, Matt, MJ, and Jake Samuels decided on young Fredrik Åkesson (19 years old at the time) as guitar player. Some touring and songwriting took place, but then the person responsible for signing Talisman to Warner left for a bigger gig, and the new guy didn't want to deal with any acts he hadn't signed himself. After shopping around for a while, Matt tired of waiting and decided to join Skin Trade instead. Jake Samuels also left.

In the mean time Christer Wedin who had done press and promotion for the first Talisman album, had landed a gig as the boss for the Swedish section of dutch/Canadian owned label Dino Records . He suggested that MJ and JSS got back together again. Since the Eyes effort floundered (that album was in the end released on a label that previously had had success with country music, this was apparently their first attempt at rock- didn't work!) JSS agreed.

The album was recorded and mixed in three weeks December 1992. The band had a little help from Mats Lindfors (who later did the mixing) with engineering, and then MJ recorded himself and Fredrik. It was very stressful, exploding amps, burning mixing consoles, untunable guitars- as always!

When the album was released, the single “Mysterious” got some airplay, the album immediately sold some 15 000 copies + in Sweden. But what was good was that both “Genesis” and “Talisman” garnered some international interest, and was released in Japan on Xero Records .

The band did a club tour in Sweden in March, with Jake Samuels coming back to play drums. After the tour, Jake quit playing drums to concentrate on his vocal abilities. In stepped Jamie Borger (long time favourite drummer for MJ) from recently defunct Treat. Thus Talisman became a group for the first time. The group toured Japan and recorded a live album (“5 out of 5”, release postponed) and then Europe.

The track "Run With The Pack" is the cover-version of Bad Company and is the Japanese release bonus track.
