At the time of the SRF 2001, JSS was in Stockholm working with MJ & Pontus Norgren laying vocals for their band “Humanimal” (confusing maybe, there is a band, that band's first and only CD titled the same, and a number of versions of Talisman album's also with this name- what the hell were these guys thinking???).

So naturally the guys decided to perform at the SRF just for fun. The actual recording came about simply because another band performing on the same stage (the Rockklassiker tent, 2000 crowd capacity) had brought down a mobile recording unit for them to record a live album. This opportunity was grasped by Christer Wedin (once again…).

The show was a roaring success, there was no room to place as much as a frog inside the tent, everybody was going crazy in there, and it’s quite audible on the resulting CD. There were some overdubs to be made, a couple out of tune guitars and the entire bass track (there was a major fuckup, MJ’s bass and equipment got left behind at the previous gig, the show had to be performed on borrowed stuff).

This was however done exactly like it was a live performance: MJ and Pontus simply rigged a PA in a studio, pumped up the volume, and played straight through the set and recorded everything in one take. No one can tell the difference, even the guys themselves…
